Mass Tory resignations in Hendon

Statement Issued by Councillors Joan Scannell, Mark Shooter and Sury Khatri


THE HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL AND WINNING TEAM OF HENDON CONSERVATIVE ASSOCIATION CHAIRMAN CLLR JOAN SCANNELL, DEPUTY CHAIRMAN CLLR MARK SHOOTER, AND SECRETARY CLLR SURY KHATRI, HAVE DECIDED TO STAND DOWN AS ASSOCIATION OFFICERS AT THE AGM ON SUNDAY.

THE CHAIRMAN, CLLR SCANNELL, SAID:  “2010 WAS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL YEAR THE ASSOCIATION HAS SEEN IN DECADES.  MATTHEW OFFORD WAS ELECTED AS THE MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR HENDON, ALL SITTING COUNCILLORS WERE RE-ELECTED AND TWO MORE SEATS WERE GAINED IN MILL HILL -  ALL DUE TO THE HARD WORK AND DEDICATION OF ALL 5 ASSOCIATION OFFICERS, INCLUDING MR ELLIOT ARWAS AND CLLR HUGH RAYNER, PLUS THE MP, THE AGENT, THE MEMBERS, AND THE ELECTORATE”.   

“CLLR MARK SHOOTER COMMENTED THAT:   “THE HIGH POINT TO THE SUCCESSFUL YEAR WAS HAVING DAVID CAMERON, WILLIAM HAGUE AND DOMINIC GRIEVE ALL VISIT THE CONSTITUENCY DURING THE ELECTION CAMPAIGN, AND ATTRACTING AN EXTREMELY LARGE TURNOUT TO EACH EVENT"

CLLR KHATRI CONFIRMED THAT:   "THERE WERE SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISING EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE ELECTION BEING CALLED, AND AN EXCELLENT, WELL RUN, AND CO-ORDINATED CAMPAIGN, WITH THE ELECTION SUCCESS IN HENDON BUCKING THE TREND FOR THE CONSERVATIVES IN LONDON”.

ALL THREE COUNCILLORS HAVE DECIDED TO STEP DOWN TO CONCENTRATE ON BUSINESS AND FAMILY INTERESTS, AND WISH THE NEW ASSOCIATION OFFICERS EVERY SUCCESS FOR THE FUTURE.
