Barnet Cabinet Member ignores Scrutiny Committee recommendation

I was forwarded this response to members of the scrutiny committee and other council officials. It concerns a decision by the scrutiny committee to send back an item for reconsideration. The decision of the Cabinet Member responsible means that they are personally liable if the decision goes wrong, having ignored the advice of the scrutiny committee. Dear Councillors,
 
On 13th September 2010, the Sub-Committee referred Delegated Powers Decision 1134 (Report of the Cabinet Member for Resources & Performance – Award of Implementation Partner Contract) back to the decision maker for reconsideration.
 
Following a review of the decision, the Cabinet Member for Resources & Performance decided to retain the original decision without amendment.  Consequently, the decision had been implemented.  A delegated powers report has been produced confirming the decision of the Cabinet Member which has been published on the Council’s website and can be accessed via the following link:
